 Sara's family
 
 
            Sara is a doctor. She is thirty seven years old. She lives  in a small village near Agadir. Her father is Moroccan. Her mother is Egyptian.She has two brothers and one sister.
            Sara is married. Her husband’s name is Khalid. He is a teacher.He works at a high school.Sara and Khalid have one son called Hamid. He is three years old.And two daughters, their names are Houda and Khadija. Khadija is eleven and Houda is fourteen. They are students in a preparatory school. At the weekend, Khalid goes to the sport club and plays tennis with his friend Hassan, whereas, Sara visits her parents or reads newspapers.

GENITIVE CASE ( 'S )


 

O genitive case expressa posse entre dois substantivos, referindo-se a pessoas ou animais.

Regra geral:

Possuidor + 's + Posse


Exemplos:

The play of Shakespeare - Shakespeare's play 
(A peça de Shakespeare)

The film of John Ford - John Ford's film
(O filme de John Ford)

Nomes próprios terminados em "s"

Possuidor + 's + Posse

Exemplos:

The country of James - James's country
(O país de James)

The car of Marcos - Marcos's car
(O carro de Marcos)

Observação 1:
Se o nome seguinte começar por sibilante, usa-se apenas o ['].

Exemplos:

Clovis'sister
(A irmã de Clovis)

Marcos'son
(O filho de Marcos)

Nomes próprios "clássico", "bíblicos" ou "históricos" terminados em "s".

Possuidor + ' + Posse

É possível usar o [ 's ] quando o possuidor é um organização (grupo de pessoas)

Exemplos:

É também possível se usar o ['s] quando o possuidor é um lugar.

Exemplos:

(A nova praça da cidade)

(O sistema de governo da França)

Quando o possuidor é um substantivo relativo ao tempo.

Exemplos:

Com períodos de tempo o ['] ou ['s] também pode ser empregado.
